The Yadda Yadda Buffet: Oh, for the love of Pete!

And if you've spend quality time - like I did - wondering where this oft used phrase comes from, here's what I was able to dig up at http://www.pride-unlimited.com/probono/idioms1.html#f:

This phrase and phrases like "for Pete's sake" are euphemisms for the phrases "for the love of God/Christ" or "for God's/Christ's sake" hail from a time when those phases were considered blasphemous. Nowadays phrases like "for the love of God" are commonly used, but the euphemisms are still used.

Why Pete? Most likely it is a reference to the Catholic Saint Peter.

And yes, for the love of Mike is the same but with a reference to the archangel Michael. Now ya know!

But that's not why I labelled this post "Oh, for the love of Pete!" I am - once again - acknowledging that this blog thing is far more difficult than it looks. First ya gotta make something or do something, then ya gotta photograph it, then ya gotta get the picture off the camera and onto the website, and finally ya gotta say something about what ya made or did or life or all of the previous. NOT EASY!

This is my solemn promise post something every Sunday, whether it's meaningful (like "for the love of Pete") or creative, like a project I've been working on. Something new will be added to this fine entertainment venue every week or else!

Today, I'm starting with my a quest for the best fries in North America, an activity every Type II Diabetic should regularly engage in! I'll update you on the many failures and the few successes I encounter. Each fry will receive a rating of one to five fry guys.  (And zero gets a special notation!)

My first review is Red Robin's fries. I'm not a big fan of steak fries; although nearly anything is improved with ranch dressing! And, yes, you can have as many of them as you want; if nothing else, they are plentiful. Now if only they were crunchy on the outside!

And the garlic fries. Hmm, how can I be kind here? Nope, sorry, it's just not possible. These fries are moist; drippy, in fact. I guess they're prepared with some kind of garlic sauce before they're tossed with Parmesan. {Shiver! } Probably the top of my failure list to-date.
Rating:

Just a few thoughts from a gal who might be a few fries short of a Happy Meal!
