Card-a-Copia: Jellypark Charity Cards

I've been absent for quite some time because the host of my blog background stopped working.  After attempting a new blog to replace it and running into self-inflicted problems, I just stopped posting until I had a Plan C in order.  I did a quick check tonight and it appears that all is back in order, so here I go again!  (Although I really liked the new blog design and if someone could help me fix my misguided attempt at HTML code, I'd probably switch over there permanently.)

Claire Keay over at Jellypark has been offering free images (there are five in total) for people who will make and send cards to kids 00ver in the U. K. who have long-term illnesses.   Stamp #1 is my favorite and is going to get a lot of use!  Seriously, who DOESN'T love a sock monkey?

Still experiencing a serious case of too-much-to-do-and-too-little-time-to-do-it-in.  In the next seven days, I have to finish my two online classes, finish packing up my school room, wrap my arms around what it means to be a school librarian, and move boxes into my new space at Curtis High School!  That's a whole lot of life in one week, People!

The Yadda-Yadda Buffet: The Kids

Caught the dogs in a few cute pictures.  I cannot imagine my life without them.  On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd have adopt one in the future.  It's a conundrum for sure.

Chance (you can tell from the blur of his tail that I was lucky to get this shot!)

Muffin, sweet Muffin
Teddy, living up to his name

Card-a-Copia: Eat Cake Graphics

I am once again Eat Cake Graphic-ing!  This card started because of some paper I picked up on sale.  From there it was just a matter of stamping and coloring the dogs.  I also added a bone and a ball to the "Polaroid" framed images.

More Eat Cake Graphics to come!

Stamps:  Zero, Webster's Tilting His Head (Eat Cake Graphics)
Paper: kraft, "Oh Snap" Camera Journaling Cards (Echo Park)
Ink:  Copics
Misc.:  Glossy Accents, white gel pen

The Yadda-Yadda Buffet: The Family 2013

Went back to Bill Langfitt and had photos of the puppies taken.  They look great...and Bill wasn't incapacitated in the process!

I had seen Bill's photos of six big dogs all sitting nicely together and thought maybe we could manage the same with my crew.  He managed to do just that, and all it took was a little Photoshop to get my lovies to all sit together.   A little further down, you'll see portraits of Chance and Teddy that look a little familiar!

Card-a-Copia: Inspiration Struck

In a move that boggles the mind, I am actually AHEAD on cards right now!  Here are my Mother's Day and Father's Day cards for 2014.

Papers:  Core D'Inations
Ink:  Memento (Gray Flannel)
Misc.: white gel pen

Papers:  "Hey Pop!" Elements 1 (Simple Stories), "Brook Collection" Branch (Crate Papers), "Black Bird" Pumpkins (My Mind's Eye), Core D'Inations
Misc.:  Zach's Life epoxy arrow (Little Yellow Bycycle)

The Yadda-Yadda Buffet: A Surprise in the Night

Just before Christmas at about 3:30 AM, the dogs leaped off the bed and began scratching and barking at the front door.  There would be no going back to sleep with all that hullabaloo going on, so I went to the door to see why they were going ballistic.  I looked out the window, saw nothing, told the dogs to go back to bed, and headed that way myself.  The dogs didn't follow me.  More barked and scratching ensued, so I got back up, turned on the light and opened the door to see what the issue was.

Here was the issue:

I brought "Little Man" in, got him some food and water, and put him in bed with us.  We all floundered around for an hour and then it was time to get up for work anyway.

I shut him in the bathroom and tried to stay focused during the day.  I left work as early as I could and came home to find that Little Man had thrashed the bathroom.

Sigh.

I took him to the vets to make sure he didn't have any diseases - he didn't - and we headed back home.  The other dogs were not pleased that he came back and attempted to terrorize him most of the evening.  (He thought it was all good fun.)  When it was time to go to bed, I tucked him in bed with us.  Probably not my finest idea since he peed in the bed within the hour.

Puppies.  PUPPIES!  OY!

In a heartwrenching decision, I determined that I couldn't handle another animal and peddled him at the staff meeting that afternoon.  After get turned down flat by my Department members, I approached the English department.  The first one I spoke with surprised the hell out of me when she said "Yes!"  I brought him with me the next day for a home visit and he stayed and got a new name - Pippin.

Nice.

Card-a-Copia: What's Your Name Again and Who Are Those People?

Yes, yes, I did drop off the face of the Earth, but I'm back now!  Here's something I did while I was out!
